Teaching Experience I have diverse experience teaching all ages of children in all subjects over the past 4 years of University. I have taught all ages from elementary to high school. I have also worked as a camp counselor at a nature education camp and an intensive writing camp. Recently, I have had ESL experience working with refugee and immigrant children in Nashville, where I volunteered to help with an after school program serving to integrate them into the Nashville community.
Explain About Your Personality I studied Cognitive Science and Religious Studies at Vanderbilt University, where I sought to understand how people think, learn, develop, and establish meaning in their lives. This pursuit reflects my academic and personal interests. On a more casual side, I love to hike and rock climb - you could call me an outdoor enthusiast! I love connecting with others and learning more about different cultures around the world. Connecting with individuals across cultural barriers is the best experience anyone could ask for!

Dear search committee,
I am writing because I am interested in ESL positions with your school.
During my Junior year at Vanderbilt University, I was lucky enough to spend a semester living with a Tibetan family in Nepal while learning their language and culture. This experience opened doors for me, allowing me to connect with beautiful individuals that I would not have been able to otherwise. Ultimately, this process was therapeutic, allowing me to put my life in to perspective and making me feel like I am a part of the bigger picture. I want to be able to share this cultural experience with others.
I can be an asset to your school because of my language learning skills and international experience, my adaptability, and my work ethic and tenacity. Nepal was a challenging place to live, but I learned through my time there that I am energized in the face of true challenge and fear. I decided to spend a summer there after my study abroad experience, discovering a new side of myself while engaging with the professional Nepali sphere. The rest of my time in Asia was spent traveling on a budget, which now gives me the confidence to feel like I can go anywhere on this earth. I have a multitude of experiences teaching different types of people, and I know I can apply the life skills I have accumulated to be an excellent teacher.
I don’t shy in the face of fear, and I hope I can bring this strength and others to you. I am self-motivated, love projects, and am ready to put myself out there in order to collaborate and succeed.
Thank You,
Alec Rothschild
