 Cover Letter

I am applying for the ESL teaching position available within your institution. I applying for this job as a recent Arabic and International Relations British graduate and native English speaker from London, England and aspire to begin my career in teaching. I believe that not only will teaching in South Korea provide me with a strong foundation in teaching English as a second language around the world, but I am in turn highly motivated to teaching children and aspire to help students not only meet their educational goals but have fun in doing so.

This role greatly interests me as it allows me to use my experience working with English language students and play a direct role in their acquisition of the language. My current position as a Student Helper for the University of Westminster’s Education Abroad Team allows me to communicate with international students on a daily basis. Consequently, I am able to effectively provide appropriate guidance and support to students from all around the world as well as represent the Education Abroad Team successfully.

During my study abroad, I volunteered with St. Andrew’s Refugee Services in Cairo as a volunteer English tutor which allowed me to work with refugee adults and assist them with their English language studies out of the classroom. The students were from a variety of backgrounds and of varying English language standards which not only allowed me to learn about their cultures and home countries but also pushed me to communicate and create a level of understanding without discomfort or frustration. Due to this, I believe that I will be able to more than adequately liaise with Korean students of all ages, as well as their guardians should the need arise.
Thank you very much for taking the time to read my personal statement. Please do not hesitate to contact me should you have any queries regarding my experience or CV.

Kind regards,
