Coming to Korea is the best decision I’ve ever made. I knew I would love it here from the moment I stepped off the plane nine months ago. This country is absolutely incredible, and I LOVE teaching English. I don’t think I’ve ever felt this happy with my life, and I have the full intention of living and working in Korea for the indefinite future.

Not only am I positive I will continue to love teaching ESL in Korea, I am also fully confident I will be a fantastic addition to your teaching staff. My teaching philosophy centers around three main points: connect and bond with the students, get them excited about learning, and teach them in a way they will understand.

“Students don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care”. I love this quote, and as a teacher I have tried to live by it every day. As a teacher at your school, I will take every opportunity I have to connect with the kids, get to know them better, and show that I genuinely care about them. My goal is to be more than just a teacher to my students. I want to be a mentor, a supporter, and a positive influence they will still fondly remember 20 years from now.

My second biggest goal as an educator is to create a classroom environment that is fun, welcoming, and engaging. A question I am constantly asking myself while preparing lessons is “what can I do to make this more fun and interesting?”. I want to teach the kinds of classes that students look forward to all week.

It is important for students to feel welcomed and entertained while in the classroom, but I still recognize that their primary motivation for being there is to learn English. I take a tremendous amount of pride in the fact that I know how to teach English extremely effectively. If brought on to teach at your school, I guarantee your students’ English abilities will improve.

Lastly, I would like to once again mention how much I love living and working in Korea. You have absolutely nothing to worry about in terms of me ending a contract early, struggling to adjust to Korean life/work culture, or failing to teach effectively. I have done it all, loved every minute of it, and am incredibly excited at the opportunity to show you firsthand by becoming a teacher at your school. Thank you so much for your time and I look forward to hearing back from you.

Sincerely,
Grant
