Teaching and Professional Experience

➢ Fast Track Kids English Academy 2015-2016
Completed one year teaching at this Hagwon in 동탄 where I was trained in using Smart-boards and online Learning Stations.

Kindergarten: Responsibilities included, choosing, teaching and choreographing songs and dances for special performances. Teaching everything from beginners phonics to advance grammar from books and online programs. I taught science, art, global manner classes as well as occasional cooking classes.

Elementary: Created a textbook for a new Essay Writing Class, for students ranging from levels 1 to 5. The first level covers basic sentence structure, “I like….Because…” allowing lower level English students to begin developing their ideas. By level 5, students should be able to write full 3 body paragraph essays. I then went on and taught classes with these textbooks.
Other responsibilities included teaching history, astronomy, using learning stations from the Smart-boards. I also taught from textbook, held debate classes and taught phonics to first time learners. I’ve learned the importance of being fun and engaging for elementary students, as they are often tired and distracted.

➢ Jubilee Prime English Academy 2016-2017
Completed one year with this Hagwon in 송파구.
Kindergarten: Ran a full classroom alone. Created lessons and taught at my own pace with minimal supervision. Began with a new 6 year classroom of 12 students with no knowledge of English and left the same students at 7 years, with beginner intermediate level in reading and comprehension.

Elementary: Created lesson plans, tests, and made appropriately leveled workbooks for various classes. Interviewed and placed students in the proper level classroom. Kept track of all evaluations and progress, while writing weekly reports for every student.
 Explain About Your Personality I'm a kind, observant, patient and cheerful person. I love working with children and work hard at getting to know my students to teach them to the best of my ability.
Teaching English at my first Hagwon in Korea was an extremely lovely experience. I enjoyed getting to know all of my students, as I sang songs and read stories in the morning with my preschoolers and kindergarten students or prepared tests, lead debates and cheered at speech contests for my elementary school students!
I believe these 2 years in Korea have really helped me develop my flexibility as well as my ability to quickly adapt to new settings. I’ve learned many new skills, from making textbooks, tests, to producing musicals. My progressing Korean language abilities also give me an understanding of how to approach teaching Korean students in a way that suits them.
